Toronto Maple Leafs - do they sucketh?

So how bad does a sports team have to be in order to qualify as "they suck"? Coming in dead last would be a an automatic "sucketh". For this year it is shared between Tampa Bay and Los Angles. The Leafs have managed to avoid this dishonor for as long as they have been able to avoid the playoffs. However in their case they have missed the playoffs 3 years in a row. Does this qualify as "they suck"?

I don't find a losing team to be enjoyable to watch. The worst part is there is no reason to believe they will be any better next year.

I recommend you do what I do - watch the Blue Jays. Go Jays!!!!

A thief - with a conscience?

This is both strange and surprising. First some background to this story. A thief stole my collection of music CD's out of my car. He also stole some library CD's as well. It was a 4 disc collection of Sherlock Holmes stories. (In case you are wondering yes I forgot to lock my doors). I had to pay the library for the loss of the CD. It cost my $45.

I found out today that the library CD's had been returned. Not sure who. The library refunded my money which is good news. I figure one of 3 things happened
  • the thief decided that he didn't want it and returned them to the library. I consider this unlikely. He is more likely to just throw them out
  • It was dropped on the ground. Someone found them and returned it
  • the police found them during a raid and returned them to the library.
If the police did find them then maybe they found my CD collection. I should call and ask. It was a good collection.

My thanks to the returnee - thief or otherwise.

Roll up the rim - to lose?

Think about it. The odds of winning are 1 in 9. This means you have an 8 out of 9 chance to lose. Perhaps Tim Horton's slogan should be "Roll up the Rim to lose". What they are doing is false advertising. They make you believe something you are unlikely to get. So far all I have won is one free coffee.

Obviously this would not sell. To be correct they should advertise "Roll up the Rim for a Chance to Win". Not that it changes the odds.

Google versus Yahoo

I have been using Yahoo for a long time since mid 90's.  Back then it was just a simple search portal.  What I liked about it was that it would try to categorize the websites.  Not sure if they still do.  Later they introduced email plus a whole host of other features including games.  My favorite is Euchre.  I also read the news.

For searching google is nice an simple.  Not a lot of clutter.  Not sure why it tells me that it found 2 million hits.  Not like I am going to read through them all.

So which is better?  Not sure.  I mostly use google.
